Website Update 2/25/15

So for a while now I’ve been doing a series of small additions. I updated the horizontal navigation bar a bit. Hopefully this will make navigation clearer.

I also added more links on the links page. I added a whole section for DeviantArt on there and added a bunch of artists. Tumblr has its own section now. I’ve also been doing some work on the back end of this site.

For the past couple of weeks or so everything has been quiet on the doujinshi front. I haven’t been able to locate any new doujinshi cover images or information. I have some ideas of other content to add to this site if this trend continues.

My OVA DVD has shipped. So expect a review of it to be posted here.

Yoroiden Samurai Troopers TV Series DVD Release Date Announced!

The Yoroiden Samurai Troopers TV Series DVD Collection will be released on April 28th. Retail price will be $59.95. As I have done for the OVA Collection, I will make a separate post for when the TV series is available for pre-order.

Also if any additional images for the TV series set get published, I will edit this blog post and add those images.

Please remember that this set will be the Japanese version only with English subtitles.

Still no word on any progress with Discotek getting the license for the Ronin Warriors dub. I recall fairly recently reading online that the English dub was changed/edited so it could not fit on the same DVD as the original Japanese version. So the dub would have needed to be released separately anyway.

I just got this new doujinshi with this really cute story that starts out with Kento, Ryo and Cye trying on each other’s armors and using the sure kills. Which is kind of a neat idea. And then, out of the blue, the Warlords appear like Sailor Moon villains and… STEAL THEIR PICNIC BASKET.

It is now one of my all time favorite dj stories. And I greatly approve of Cale’s picnic basket stealing outfit.

WOOO! FINISHED ANOTHER ONE!!

My blog is four years old today so here’s your present, pictures of the completed Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers scarf. Yaay!

I’ve got to say, I’d love to see something like this in a lanyard. (Of course I’d prefer just the Dark Warlord/Mashou armor symbols.) I mean how cool would that be? An easy way to find other fans of the series while at a convention.

Armor orbs (Unofficial Merchandise)

Armor orbs came in the mail today! Obviously not licensed merch (as suspected), shipping in plain cardboard with newsprint wrapping. They didn’t match the kanji written on the boxes, which made us laugh. Came with some little glass stands, but they will need some museum putty to keep from sliding around in them. (Not putting in the case with the figures until I do that, because they weigh a ton and one rolling loose would break my case.) Colors are clear and bright in person (these are unedited pics and kinda dark), etching is nice and neat. (Not sure about the mark missing in Seiji’s kanji, but I’m putting that to a calligraphy style, and I’m sure whoever made these knows 900% more about kanji than I ever will.) Bigger than I imagine actual armor orbs to be! Nice pieces, good quality, look super swank all in a row.

Bottom line: I would have sold my grandmother for these in ‘98. Seventy bucks seems kind of a bargain, by that estimation.
