Website Update 1/10/16
- Between the last posted blog update and this one, I changed/upgraded my site’s theme to GeneratePress. It was the best option I found. I lost some things exclusive to my old WordPress theme, like having certain widgets/sidebars display only on the main index page. Ah well.
- Doujinshi, doujinshi, doujinshi! I think I counted 22 new doujinshis added to the site. Select Merchandise and then each doujinshi page. (Remember they’re split up down due to the amount. I wonder if I’ll have to split them into three pages by title eventually, or maybe more!)
I was hoping to do more, but I’ve come down with a bit of a cold. The problem of coming back to work after vacation is all of the people who come back to work sick and spread their colds. Ugh. It’s sapped most of my energy away. So rest and relaxation for me as I get over this and hopefully then back to work on the site.
I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. I hope some wonderful things happen to you dear visitor this year.
Oh and for those of you looking into writing and checking off things on a list this year, I recommend looking into Todoist. I found it late last year. Maybe it’ll help you out. 🙂
My best posts of 2015 (Tumblr)
As 2015 draws to a close, I am grateful to all of my followers here on Tumblr. I joined to create a Tumblr for my fansite in hopes of finding more Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers fans
online. As of this posting 174 of you have decided to follow me. Thank you.
Listed below are the top posts on my Tumblr for this year, broken down by month.
Also, if you have not noticed, on my main Tumblr page I have added a “Submit Something”
link. This is in case any of you out there find any Dark Warlord/Mashou
or Kayura related stuff you want to let me know about. I’m not sure how
this all works, so we’ll see how it goes.
Here’s to a great 2016 for all of us.

samuraireflections: Picture Dumps for You (doujinshi images)
It’s a pretty slow Christmas night over here, so I thought I’d look into something I’ve been wanting to do for a while. I have been saving random doujinshi scans and covers for years from old fan pages and auctions. Most of which do not exist anymore.
I’ve been trying to decide of a way to share these with the remaining fans out there who also enjoy squirreling away beautiful art. So I got myself a flickr account and I’ve been dumping a large portion of my files in there.
It is not my intention to steal content from pages that are still active, I just want to keep this art in circulation for my fellow fans.

Ahhhh thank you I have some to add too. I need to scan my coloring books.
I’ve also been hoarding pictures since 99 so I need to go through them.If you or anyone else has dj scans and/or covers you have been collecting and would like add to these albums, contact me. It would be great to keep this stuff together so everyone has access to them all in one spot.
Reblogging to draw more attention to this.
Also there’s quite a few doujinshi covers with the Mashou on them that I haven’t seen before. I wish I had more information about these titles so I could add those images to my doujinshi pages.
Richard Newman twitter post (Voice actor for Cale)
Nice to see more fandom love. 🙂 Also notice Richard Newman is also spelling the character’s name as Cale. Between this and the toy releases, I’m willing to say that confirms this is the official spelling.
Cale / Anubisu and Sage / Seiji fanart
Another commission from a member on Deviantart.
Nice. 😀
It’s rare to see the back of Cale/Anubisu. I’ll have to go back through my stuff to see if I can find some more references showing it. Mostly because it so.. different.
TV Series Discussion: “Your mother wears army boots”
Didn’t Ryo call Sekhmet’s mother a whore?
“Your mother wears army boots!“ (or “combat boots”). The implication is
that she must have got them by bartering sex with a soldier for clothes.
This particular one, referring to women in poor villages who would put
out in such a fashion, has become a Forgotten Trope
that has to be explained to a modern listener. Especially since a woman
who wears army boots these days is much more likely to be in
the army. If this insult is ever used unironically now, the implication
is probably that the insulter thinks the insultee’s mother is a lesbian,
in an inversion of Real Women Never Wear Dresses.

… And Ryo talks this way to someone who can “scorch the Earth” with his venom and the venom can eat through armor (eventually). Yeah taunt that guy.
I suspect Sekhmet being in the Netherworld for centuries had no idea what that phrase really meant, lucky for Ryo. Otherwise Sekhmet would be, “F*ck this. You’re dying NOW.”
